WEATHER
Temperatures today will be slightly cooler than yesterday, though still above average for this time of year. Relative humidity will be higher and winds will be light from the northwest today. There has been no measureable precipitation across the area since the original lightning storm on July 15, a period of 45 days. There is no rain or lightning forecasted for this area in the near future although some marine air is predicted to move into the area and help reduce the dryness and bring relative humidity up.

SMOKE
Smokey conditions will persist down wind of the fires with the coastal communities continuing to find some relief with the change of northeast winds to northwest. With the recent change in wind flow, areas on fires that have been seeing lower amounts of smoke may have pockets of unburned fuels burn creating smoke again.
Air quality can be checked at:  http://oregonsmoke.blogspot.com/

  • Donate to local charitable organizations like the Red Cross.
  • Donate to local food banks, which sometimes get forgotten when fires impact a community.
  • Create and maintain a defensible space around your home!  Give emergency responders and yourself a safe area to defend your home in or retreat to, if necessary.
