WEATHER
A very hot and dry air mass will remain in place through Thursday.  Isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon over parts of Siskiyou, Modoc, Southeast Klamath, and Lake Counties,
developing from the Siskiyous south and the southern Cascades east.  Thunderstorms are also possible in Southeast Jackson County but confidence is low in this area due to lingering smoke which tends to inhibit thunderstorm development. A hot and dry air mass will affect the area through Thursday, with temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal. Overnight humidity recoveries will generally trend lower through Thursday night. Thunderstorm chances diminish Wednesday, and no thunderstorms are expected Thursday through the weekend.

SMOKE Some improvement is expected in the northwest portion of southern Oregon to include parts of Josephine and Douglas counties. The trend for heavier smoke concentrations will occur along the Oregon border, especially Wednesday. Interstate 5 between Ashland to Medford will continue to be significantly affected.  Cleaner air locations during the afternoon's include the Oregon coast north of Gold Beach, Roseburg OR area, and portions of the northern Sacramento Valley in CA.

Humidity will gradually trend lower and the heavier smoke concentrations will shift allowing for more active fire behavior and growth the next 2 days, especially Wednesday. A new large emission source (Carr Fire) occurred NW of Redding yesterday and will influence southern portions of the outlook area.
