Hugo Road Fire - AM Update

Yesterday evening (9/2/18) at approximately 18:50 hours the Hugo Road Fire west of I-5 was reported and ODF, SOA districts & multiple fire agencies from the Rogue Valley responded. Fire was wind driven burning grass, timber and within the WUI. As of 06:00 this morning we are estimating the fire size to be approximately 250 acres, 15% contained and the forward spread has been stopped for now. 200+ homes are on a level 3 evacuation, 300 homes on a level 2 and 200 more are on a level 1. OSFM has declared a conflagration at 00:18 this morning and will be sending 4 structural task forces along with a OSFM short team. District has in place a type 3 organization (IC Tyler Averyt). Evacuation shelter has been set up at the Josephine County Fairgrounds. Weather for today RFW until 11:00, T-85-90, Rh 20-25%, Winds will be N 6-10 with gusts of 20-30 MPH this afternoon.
